Manual Lymphatic Drainage (mld)

The lymphatic system is your body’s trash collection and immune defense network, think of it like a storm drain network in a city. It collects water from the streets (your tissues) and channels it through filters (your lymph nodes). All of this cleaned water is then piped straight back into a massive river (your blood). The lymph fluid then drains back into the bloodstream, which flows through the kidneys, where waste is removed through your breath, sweat, urine, and bowels. It never leaves the city limits. If this "drain" gets clogged or damaged, the fluid gets stuck, which can cause swelling and inflammation.

Because the body cannot "leak" or drain this fluid externally, you must help the fluid move back into the bloodstream naturally. This is done using specific massage techniques, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD).

what is the lymphatic system?

why is lymphatic drainage important?

Everyday, your body is naturally pumping anywhere from 2-4 quarts of lymphatic fluid.

When Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is performed, the lymphatic system is kickstarted into gear and anywhere from 8-12 quarts of fluid can be moved in just a 60 minute service!

Manual Lymphatic aids in reuducing swelling and fluid retention, boosts the immune system, and enhances overall well-being.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a deeply relaxing service that moves stagnated lymphatic fluid toward the lymph nodes to aid in detoxing unwanted toxins from your body. Your treatment begins and ends with diaphragmatic breathing to stimulate the body's main lymphatic pathways and promote relaxation. Unlike a traditional massage, MLD is performed with little oil, allowing a gentle stretch of the skin rather than an oily slip.

The treatment starts by clearing the lymphatic pathways in the neck, chest, and collarbone areas, creating space for lymph fluid to move efficiently. Slow, rhythmic, and precise hand movements are then used throughout the upper body, including the neck, décolleté, face, and scalp to encourage lymphatic fluid to drain toward the lymph nodes. The pressure is extremely light and should never cause pain, redness, or soreness. During your treatment, you may feel an increased need to swallow, sniffle, or clear your throat, After your treatment, you may notice increased urination as your body naturally processes excess fluid.

Carrying a deep sense of relaxation or sleepiness as the nervous system shifts into a restorative state, many clients also experience a noticeable reduction in swelling, puffiness, tightness, and feelings of heaviness throughout the upper body, leaving them feeling lighter, more comfortable, and refreshed.
